Sun, 20 November 2005 One True Media gift ideas for the holidays - photo books and DVD montages. I had an opportunity to speak with Mark Moore, one of the founder's of One True Media about their services. I believe they are on to something with the amount of digital images and videos shot annually. Their method of digitizing your "memories" works in two dimensions. The obvious is having scenes and still images available for you to edit and use to make books and DVDs with the software on their web site, but the other dimension, so well in my head after the catastrophes of the hurricanes, tornados and other horrors, is in completely saving all of your collections. That One True Media stores everything, and makes it available online, is fantastic "insurance".Click here to listen to or download Secrets of Digital Imaging Vol1No27 in MP3 format Click here to listen to or download Secrets of Digital Imaging Vol1No27 in Windows Media (WMA) format

Sun, 13 November 2005 Basic digital imaging workflow and Wacom graphic tablets are the features of this edition of the Secrets of Digital Imaging audio magazine. One of my listeners, Ross Bryan, asked me to explain some very basic workflow procedures to help those that consider themselves "basic shooters". Also in this edition, I feature an interview I had with Scott Rawlings of Wacom, the manufacturer of those fantastic graphic tablets. Whether you're a basic shooter or an advanced pro, you can do more with a Wacom tablet than you can with a mouse. Scott explains a few reasons why you should consider getting a tablet to help you with your image editing and I can tell you that if you do, you won't go back to using a mouse!Click here to listen to Secrets of Digital Imaging Vol1No26 in MP3 format Click here to listen to Secrets of Digital Imaging Vol1No26 in Windows Media (WMA) format I'd like to thank Scott Rawlings, Doug Little and Wacom for allowing me to speak to them at the PhotoPlus Expo in New York. They took precious time away from their work to speak to me and their generosity is appreciated.

Sun, 6 November 2005 The Need for Image SharpeningClick here to listen to Secrets of Digital Imaging Vol1No25 in MP3 format Click here to listen to Secrets of Digital Imaging Vol1No25 in Windows Media (WMA) format Parker Plaisted discusses sharpening. Parker is from nik Multimedia, publisher of nik Sharpener Pro 2.0, nik Color Efex Pro 2.0, and Dfine® 1.0. In this interview, recorded at PhotoPlus Expo, Parker explains why all digital images need sharpening and how to go about it. This is an important topic for all of us using digital cameras and Parker takes the time to explain not only the inherent need, but also some of the reasons why differing amounts of sharpening are necessary, depending on your output. nik Multimedia's nik Sharpener Pro 2.0 is one of the best products available to ensure you get the ultimate punch from all your images without degrading the image. Listen to what Parker has to say about sharpening; it's a graduate course in the subject and no one describes it better. I'd like to thank both Parker Plaisted and nik Multimedia for allowing me to interview them while they were quite busy with the PhotoPlus Expo show.
